What's Your Sleep IQ?

Introduction
Thank you for visiting the Sleep & Chest Disorders Centre (SCDC).

At SCDC we help thousands of Australians revive their lifestyle by improving the sleep they get. You may not know it, but sleep can give you tremendous power. It has the power to restore, rejuvenate, and energise your body and brain. Whilst we spend only a third of our life asleep, it has profound effects on the other two thirds of your life in terms of alertness, energy, mood, body weight, perception, memory, reaction time, productivity, performance, decision making, communication skills, creativity, safety, and quality of life.

The 4 tests should take no more than 10 minutes of your time. The tests are as follows:

  • Sleep Test 1 surveys your general knowledge of sleep;
  • Sleep Test 2 ascertains how sleep-deprived you are;
  • Sleep Test 3 examines your current sleep habits; and
  • Sleep Test 4 will help you diagnose for yourself whether you have a sleep disorder.

Sleep Test 1: What’s Your Sleep IQ?

Sleep Test Answers

Sleep Test 1 reveals your general knowledge of sleep. All of the statements are false. If you scored poorly, don’t worry – you’ve got plenty of company.

Sleep Test 2 assesses how sleep deprived you are. If you answered true to 3 or more of the 15 items, you are probably not getting enough sleep. Don’t worry you are not alone. Sixty-nine percent of Australians complain of frequent sleep problems.

Sleep Test 3 examines your sleep management. If you answered true to 1 or more of the questions it is likely that at least one aspect of your lifestyle is interfering with your sleep.

Sleep Test 4 probes for problems that could indicate you have a sleep disorder. Some sleep disorders are more serious than others and may require medical attention.
